Mental Illness Awareness Week and The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention

Mental Illness Awareness Week and The Canadian Association for Suicide Prevention

So I know many of you are expected an update from mental illness awareness week. It was a wonderful life changing experience where I interacted with MPs, Senators, higher ups at bell, party leaders and many other people that have impressive titles in front of there names.  I got to spoke with a lot MPs who committed to making some positive changes  outlined by the mental health commissions. I think the best experience with speaking with bell!  It really helped me realize that work environments are trying to improve the state of mental health in Canada. I met a lot of people who are making great changes in stigma in our world today.

More recently, I got to attend the Canadian Association of Suicide Prevention conference in Niagara Falls. It was a great conference with a lot of great connections that I made! I also got to attend a great number of sessions as a volunteer! Best of all I got to meet the executive director of  Your Life Counts  and there will be cool things being announced in that department soon! (hint: it involves me and big things :P).

All in all its been an amazing month with some more awesome things happening!
